Four pound perch landed in May

Fishing with sweetcorn for our carp Mr Richardson picked up the perch fishing with a light waggler rig. The rig was set to a depth of roughly three feet with a light shot (no.4) set at one foot from the hook.

The fish gave a tremendous fight and the angler thought it was a carp. Once he saw the fish roll he then played it rather more gently. Once it was on the bank it was weighed at Four pounds exactly. A photograph was taken and the fish was released back into the swim (peg eleven).

It has been a few years since we saw a larger perch than this. A fish of 4lbs and 4oz was taken in 2003. Since that date the largest perch landed (2008) has been 3lbs 8oz.
