Derek Wilkinson lands the first perch over 3.5lbs in 2010

Derek Wilkinson has landed our first perch over three and a half pounds for 2010. Using a pole with float fished meat. The fish was landed on peg number 12. The fish put up up a good fight fooling Derek into thinking he was playing one of our carp.

Witnessed by the lake owner Mark Burley - "it was a good looking healthy fish - typical of our big perch. Last year we had 37 fish over three and a half pounds, with the best weighing in at 4lbs 2oz. This has been caught quite early really as last year most of our big perch were landed in October to December. Hopefully they will have put on a bit more weight again and with a bit of luck the lake record (4lbs 4oz) will increase. Well done Derek".
